jakarta day 1
BACK BACK BACK from a great trip!
Went to jakarta for 4 days to see liddy! What more can i ask from a trip but great company with someone I love.

You know what, I was so silly. I thought that Lid forgot I was coming. I waited 1/2 hr at the airport aft i landed. Having too much ample idle time made me think too hard about what could happen if she didn't come. My auto roam didn't work. So no phone. That didn't help because it just made me feel so helpless. Neither did I have her address. So couldn't take a cab to hers either. I was thinking... "hmm... how? *pout* I'd better not look around too much. Or someone might realise that i'm all alone and kidnap me." Hahahhaa.... kind of dumb. Cos it doesn't mean they don't see you if you don't see them. Anyway, when she finally came, i was SOOOOOO glad i could have cried.... Errr.. wait. I think i did. hahahaa. I was so afraid of riot/murder/rape/kidnap/robbery la! Everyone kept scaring me before i left.
Anyhoo, first stop right off the morning plane was to the local roadside stall to have beef noodles. There were at least half a dozen beef balls in one bowl for the price of...$ 1+? cheap as huh? It came in this clear beef soup. Her family proceeded to add kecap manis, chilli sauce 1 , lime, chilli sauce 2....etc etc till it became a red and black soup. haha. I just had mine. erm. plain. yeah... call me unadventurous. Whatever!

Next stop! Off to the local mom and pop salon for a manicure and pedicure! Couldn't believe i was there when it was happening. The place is just so retro and local. Wouldn't have dared gone if a local didn't bring me. Cost $12 for both mani and pedi! Say WHAT!?! I felt like i was exploiting labour though. I had one chick working on my feet while another was on my hands.

To the mall to the mall we went.
They have so many donut joints in indo. krispy kreme, dunkin donuts, and j.co!
We wanted to try j.co to compare em to the rest. Got to the line to pick up 1 glazed donut. And the rest was history. We ended up with a dozen assorted ones. OOPPS
From left top to right bottom: Mango cream, Oreo, Almond, Original glazed, Tiramisu, Chocolate Ring, Tiramisu (accidentally did a double order), Hazelnut crown, Vanilla cream, Cheese, Green tea, Dark Belgian Choc.

MMMmmm.... look at em!

Actually.....
They look better than they taste. They're good, don't get me wrong. And yes, we'd know. Cos we sat down, got a couple of spoons and started our sampling there and then. haha... we were such lil piggies.

My only complain is that they don't serve them warm although they make them fresh. They just don't eat them warm like they do at krispy kreme.
What is a true taste test without sampling the competitors! *guilt* Dunkin Donuts was just beside j.co! I know. no excuse. but but.... lid said the triple choc donut is freakin awesome. And yes it was. I added a peanut butter choc too. hee. We only ate half, cos it was just too much sugar in a day.

Topped off the day with karaoke at lid's family restaurant after closing hours.

Pheew... that was a long day. next few days don't even have as many photos.
More coming up! Its so late. Night!
